Half-term Travels and an Unexpected Gallery Visit
The half-term school break has provided a wonderful opportunity for family visits and a trip to Norfolk. Although the weather hasn't made outdoor activities very enticing a restful few days with family and catching up on things has been just perfect.
A chance discovery on our family travels this week was coming across the Artisan Gallery. Took some time out on our journey to stop and enjoy the current exhibition, Stitched. It was wonderful to come across this exhibition of textile and mixed media art by Sabi Westoby. A fabulous collection of beautiful work.

New Year
The new year started with a family silk painting workshop on 5 January. A wonderful world of colour on luxurious silk, just the thing to brighten up a grey winter's Saturday afternoon. The workshop with Corner 9 Arts Project was great fun and different techniques were tried to create mini works of art which were mounted on greetings cards.
Lots of new projects and workshops to look forward to this year including teaching at the Spring Knitting and Stitching Show at Olympia in March and new workshops at Corner 9 Arts Project. Looking forward to a year filled with lots of colour and fun experimenting with new materials and techniques.

Autumn Already
It's been a while since I have posted. A busy time with summer projects and now busy with the new term and planning for workshops. The long days of summer already feel a bit distant.
I will be teaching again at Corner 9 Arts Project on a number of community projects and looking forward to the Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace, 11 - 14 October.
Also pleased to have a felt work accepted to the Dying of the Sun exhibition, details below:

Easter Break
The Easter break has been a busy time with community projects and the International Feltmakers Association Conference. It was great to see such beautiful and creative work produced by feltmakers attending from all over the world. The workshops and talks were all very enjoyable and informative.
The new term has now started and I'm looking forward to new projects. I will be teaching textile workshops at Corner 9 Arts Project on Friday mornings and the after school art club continues on Thursday afternoons.

Tree Felting in Normand Park
This is the third year that a community felting project has been part of Normand Park's Easter celebration. The theme this year was flowers, with the most wonderful yellow background chosen by Bridget Steenkamp of West London Family Church. Bridget organised the craft activities for this event, assisted by members of the Church's youth group. The event was hosted by the Friends of Normand Park.
Lots of children attending the event joined in helping to cut out flowers and butterflies from prefelts to build up a colourful design. The felting was very much a group activity with many hands helping to felt the wool and transfer the piece to the tree.
